Hail Damage: Here's the issue, it doesn't look like a big deal but it will be over time. These dings will grow into bald spots as the shingle loses granules making it deteriorate all the faster in the elements.
Wind Damage:
You can see where whole patches of shingles have been blown off of the roof.
Exposed Fastener: In this case is a nail, sometimes it is a staple. These exposed pieces of metal will rust and deteriorate faster than your shingles. It also allows water to seep in around it damaging the decking and causing interior leaks.
Critter Damage: Seems to be a constant. We have nice warm, safe homes. Great for critters to have babies and hide from predators.
Note:
Before fixing the damage it is a good idea to get them out first!
Screws Backing Out: About every 12 - 15 years this occurs. The remedy is a re-screw & re-seal. Easy & Fast
